Legal Services for Protected Leave
Employees have the right to take a leave of absence and return to their job under certain circumstances, including caring for their own serious health conditions, caring for a newborn, caring for a family member with a serious health condition, jury duty and other court summons, and deployment with the armed services or National Guard. Below are some of the laws providing these protections.
- The Family and Medical Leave Act
- The Family First Coronavirus Response Act
- The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act of 1994 (USERRA)
Every claim is governed by a statute of limitations, some of which are very short. You should always act promptly on your claim because once the statute of limitation expires, the claim is gone forever.
